I have Beta 5 Public installed

Upgrade or Update?

Please advise. thanks

I had Beta 5 Public and update wen't well with the update package.

Just needed to change again some custom template files. (Like removing half of the bbc buttons :P and add a custom profile field.)

Did you look at the new option to disable bbc tags?

Heh thanks, didn't notice it until now. :) This is good thing since I have mostly young users on my board who just love to play with effects like glow and such.

Um.... Something went wrong?

QuoteSorry, the copyright must be in the template.
Please notify this ' . "forum's" . ' administrator that this site is using an ILLEGAL copy of SMF!

then it's full of php code....

I thought SMF was free?

compa

it is, but the license clearly states that you have to display the copyrights and may not change them

jannar85

How? I haven't changed anything!
Just ran the upgrade, and this suddenly happened!

The terms of having SMF for free is including the SMF copyright somewhere in the template, without it, it is illegal.

jannar85

But I haven't changed anything regarding the template  :'(
I just deleted some of the old files, and moved over the new ones....

How can I change it?

Hmmmmm, can I have a link to your board?

You need the theme_copyright() function somewhere in the template...

jannar85

Can't you just add me to your msn, and we'll talk there, since I have a password protected forum.
I don't want to post them here. So. MSN is faster as well.

The news preview is nice, but I think the textarea box is too small...

Lord_Novice

I noticed a change: In the old version, the newsbox resized to fit all the content, now it just creates scrollbars, but it looks so ugly, so i just changed the line in index.template.php:
<div style="height: 50px; overflow: auto; padding: 5px;" class="smalltext">', $context['random_news_line'], '</div>
To:
<div style="height: 100%; overflow: auto; padding: 5px;" class="smalltext">', $context['random_news_line'], '</div>

Now, the newsbox is always stretched to fit all the content..
Hope i helped anyone...
