Can i convert forums if they r not on same server?
I want to convert IPB from a free server to mine own...

i think IPB has a database download that creates an SQL file with the create and insert commands fot the tables and data so you could just create a temp db on your server

This doesn't mean that there aren't any it just means that I haven't seen any but, to date, I've not seen a single free forum hosting company that allowed access to the database to backup, recover, or export without contacting them and, normally, paying goodly sums of money.

If you're using a free service like invision free they allow you to have a forum there.
But you are very limited in what you can do with it.
As far as I know you can't take a database backup yourself.
You have to ask your host about it.
They can probably give it to you, but not for free.

That could be troublesome... Im not willing to pay for anything...

Then you're always limited to what they give you.
Which is not much most of the time.

But you will likely pay for things like a cell phone, MP3 player, etc... Nothing personal but, well, you're likely out of luck.
