Function to add files in attachments dir to Media Center

I'd be willing to contribute $50 to the SM Community, or to any individual that would be willing to take on the challenge of adding a function to the Media.php (Media Center mod) script that does the following:

parse the attachments directory along with its sub directories and create array of files
query the dB for attchments
check list of attached files against files contained in array created from parsing attachments dir
if any of the files in the attachment dir are not in the attachments array, add them to the dB

Perhaps functions from the FileManager.php mod might make this a little less painful.

Anyone?
