New Registrations

When a person registers they get put into a que awaiting activation.
Is there a way to activate them and at the same time assign them to a different group apart from the default that has been set?
this would save having to then go into members and reassigning the group for each new member.

Reason for this is I wish only members to have full board access, and anyone not currently a full member to be given a semi restricted access. ie (access to some Boards only)

I have seen this done on another BB in a drop down group selection.
