Tweaking the News Fader - Help, please?

Hiya,

I'm using the news fader on my site to run PSA's for a specific state-wide community. I like the fact that the PSA's are constantly changing, and that you can add bbc and smilies or images to draw attention to the PSA (I using the smilies to categorize the PSA's, too.)

There are only two things that are bugging me:  Some of the PSA's are longer (more lines) than others which causes the forum to jump up and down as the fader expands and contracts. The lengthier PSA's need the information in them, but the fader is moving fast enough that someone might not get to the end of it before it fades into the next message.

Is there a way to set the container for the fader to a specific height?

Is there a way to tell the fader to pause on a mouseover?

Also, and just for future reference to the developer's team, it would be nice if there were a way to "reorder" the items in the news fader.

Thanks in advance,

PS ... I forgot. I, too, would like it if there was an option to show the news fader on every page instead of just the front page!!

I came, I saw, I installed, I asked a million questions, but eventually I got it!

I guess you could always use <br> or enter to pad the size, or use HTML to define a fixed size DIV?

NativePages

How would I do it using the HTML to set the size of the div?  (sorry ... I'm just not that up on coding anymore).

#3
<div   style="width:400px;height:230px;
background-color:transparent;  overflow:auto;color: white;">

Edit: Clarified post by removing duplicate CSS options

Thank you thank you. I'm guessing that goes into the index.template file. I'll poke around in there tomorrow and try to figure it out!

I give. I can't figure out where the info controlling the newsfader is in any of the files. Thanks for the help with the code, though.

YAHOOOOOO!!!! You're a wonderful person and I'd name my next born after you 'cept I'm too old to have anymore (knock on wood), but hey ... the first goose or chicken egg that hatches around here has YOUR name on it. Well ... except for maybe the troll part... BUT ...

Here's what I ended up using for code AFTER I finally found the stuff buried in boardindex.template.php ...

<div id="smfFadeScroller" style="width: 90%; padding: 2px; overflow:scroll; width:90%;
height:115px; overflow:auto;">
