First of all, I know what your going to ask...
YES I've chmodded all directories to 777.

When I try to install a mod, after I click "Apply Mod" it asks me for my FTP information. Once I enter my FTP information (which is correct because I've used it on another FTP program) and click "Proceed" it just refreshes the page. No mods get installed and it just refreshes the page...

Why is this happening and what should actually happen once I enter FTP info?

which mod are you trying to install? I believe some just do not install for RC1.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better.

OK. You chmod *Every* file that is to be modifed and all the directories to 777 for sure? Have you *also* chmod Packages directory AND most importantly installed.list (in that directory) to 777 too - that's normally the one that gets missed.
I'm only a half geek really...

How about the directories themselves?  Have you chmod'd them?

What path are you using for the ftp path?  The default?  What is the default?

We had the same problem...

Plz take a GOOD look at the path of the directory where the smf board is. It did at our server some very strange suggestions  ::)

When you login to your FTP, does it just have /smf... or does it have like, /public_html/smf?

Problem fixed. That was the problem:

Local path to SMF:   /smf/Sources

Didn't work, but this did:

Local path to SMF:   /public_html/smf/Sources

Thanks to unknown. Locked.
