Accessing the cookie/session outside of the actual forum

Hi,

Apologies if this has been posted dozens of times before, I couldn't find anything already though.

My website currently uses the latest version of YaBB and I'm currently looking to upgrade- the thing is, my site (hxxp:www.pkmn.co.uk [nonactive]) has quite a lot of modifications that read from the users cookie to talk to the database to do things like customise the websites layout, or enable background music.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any help in accessing the SM cookies or seessions, or whatever it uses on an outside script? I've seen SSI.php but that doesn't go as far as I need.

Long story short, ideally I want to be able to access a variable that will allow me to get the logged in users information, or create a variable that does that.

Any ideas?

SSI.php goes a lot farther than you think it does.  What is it that you need?
