problem displaying rss feeds

I have rss feeds on my site, but now and then when one of them isn't loading, the whole site ain't loading...

how can I change that?

I am loading the rss feeds like this:

@include('http://www.....com/content/rss/zfeeder.php?zfmore=17&zfposition=p17&zftemplate=titels');

[[Unknown]]

I would test that the server is responsive by opening a socket to it (fsockopen) with a time limit...
