Simple Request: A Page Fade Transition...

Its disgustingly easy. Its simply a matter of telling SMF to do a Page Fade using the Fader.JS that we already have as part of the program for the news fader.

I just don't know how or where.

I want my Forum to do a Page Fade transition, when one clicks a link to a new page on the forum.

Anyone help?

they are annoying. I have seen one that works in FF some time ago I think! but it's my understanding that page transitions are not a web standard and thus not supported by any standards compliant browsers. they are for IE5+ are are just <meta> tags.

Not THAT kind of transition (although those would be helpful on a board about Star Wars or George Lucas...LOL)...

Aren't those Screen Wipes? (That's what I thought that kind of page transition is called.

I was just looking to have Page One fade out as Page Two fades in, every page.

I've got a neat idea for layout that would really benefit from such a feature.

Sorta faux AJAX effects.

there are some hints of transitions using ajax and an "in between" page!

check out Google search for stuff with Firefox page transitions (asking for IE will give you what I did at first) and you should find cross browser Ajax transition examples!

but if you are any good at javascript you could put a layer over the page and adjust the color with your background color using some filters.

but you need to remember some people have old PC's and things like this will prove to have a performance hit for your users and they may leave!
