I would like to have an "image-upload" board with a restriction of 500KB/png/gif/jpg in addititon to my demomusic-board where the limit is 15000KB/mp3. Would this be possible? Any such mod? If not, where should this be coded, and would the design contain any db-changes in your opinion?

I do not believe there is a mod out there that will allow you to do board specific Quotas, however you can limit attachments to these two boards..

in Admin => Permissions => Settings, enable advanced by-board permissions,

Then go to "permissions by board", select 'local' for the board you want to modify, then once the page reloads, click the board title.  it'll take you to a page that looks like the permissions page.  This will let you set which membergroups can do what in that board... just give the applicable membergroups permission to view and post attachments.

Do the same for the other board, and you should be good to go.

That's how it is setup now. The issue that remains, and which is unsolvable right now, is that the filetypes and sizes are global definitions. RIght?

the filetypes you can change in attachments and avatars

The sizes i believe you can as well,

but they're global to the board
