Popup Image Button in SMF?

Hi i want to make the new 1.1.2 SMF themes top logo that says 'Powered by smf' to my own image button that when click it opens a 305 x 305 popup to a link.

but when i try to add the popup code to HEAD and replace the image with my own code it gives me a theme error.

is their a way to make that logo into a popup image button?
