Is it possible for anyone to make one like IPB new profile system? I happen to like it a lot but for most people it would be more useful as a mod.

There's gotta be something SMF can do to meet up to those expectations!???

There probably is just need a good php programmer. If no one can do this I might have to learn php

yeah well a mod of that sort would be awesome! i think part of a forum needs to be social.. people meet people extra... its awesome to build that type of community forum! - im sure SMF would agree.!!

Especially if your running a community that is social such as a forum for members just to hang out not talk about one thing in specific.

Ahem. In this case you might consider getting an ugly social-site-ish software and install it, then get SMF and install it and finally bridge the two of them together.
Or wait for a mod. Whichever comes first.

I'm sorry for that. I just have this aversion for ugly social-network-ish sites. Starting with myspace, youtube, yahoo groups, msn, blogger, you name it. The only thing I can stand is a forum... plain as it is. The best way to communicate.
It's nothing personal.

Remember that coding takes a while to do, but if someone is doing one then I would hope they would post here telling us...

If you use tinyportal there is a good snippet over there for a control panel.. i use this myself.. here is screenshot of the bloody thing.. its in danish because i translated it so dont worry.. and i removed some sensitive stuff.. but basicly this is what it looks like
