I installed SMF 1.1.2 after installing Joomla 1.0.12. I installed them to the same database and I got the SMF to work, but now my Joomla site disappeared. An error appears saying, "Could not connect to the database server." I'm assuming I did something wrong with the database install, but how do I fix it or undo it? I'm using GoDaddy as a host and my site url is: http://www.langleybusinessdirectory.com [nofollow]. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There isn't a problem in the Joomla setup-at least, there wasn't. I had it running for quite a while before I decided that I was going to add SMF. The SMF install onto the same database changed the Joomla ability to access the database somehow. Any ideas?

Open configuration.php in your site's root directory and make sure the following settings are correct for your site:

$mosConfig_host = 'localhost'; // This is normally set to localhost
$mosConfig_user = ''; // MySQL username
$mosConfig_password = ''; // MySQL password
$mosConfig_db = ''; // MySQL database name

Open configuration.php in your site's root directory and make sure the following settings are correct for your site:

$mosConfig_host = 'localhost'; // This is normally set to localhost
$mosConfig_user = ''; // MySQL username
$mosConfig_password = ''; // MySQL password
$mosConfig_db = ''; // MySQL database name

I had just done that and was going to post back here that changing the configuration file worked. I inadvertently changed the database password. Thanks you, though.
