Avatar file size limit

There are options to limit pixel size of uploaded avatar, but not file size.
I have problem with users that create animated avatars that fit within pixel size limtis baut are way to long file size to be acceptable.

Also, it would be great if SMF can recognize aniated gif and allow forbiding uploading animated GIF's.

This may already be included with the next version of SMF. So, in short, 'tis a good idea.

We'll have to see if it is or not. I think it is a great idea BUT I wonder about the mechanics?

However... How would, efficiently, SMF check file sizes unless it was an uploaded image?

You can check it clientside with js

of course I'd start with checking file size and then after upload verify it with http://php.net/getimagesize
