Creating an Application to post to a particular fourm

I know this question has been asked several times, but as of yet, I haven't seen a viable answer.

I run my WoW guild's website. One of the things that we really want is a guild application that, when submitted, will post to the Recruitment forum. It's a simplifcation of the current process, but it's one that will allow for more privacy for applications.

I did several searches, but none of the appropriate topics seemed to have any valid responses to it. Does anyone know a good way to do this? I know it was doable with phpBB, but I much prefer SMF as a forum base.

I'm only a newbie when it comes to actual coding. I can pick apart most code and modify it to suit my needs, but as of yet, I'm not quite up to building new code from scratch.
