You have to change it to [username] instead the {} do not work with SMF 2.0 as they use that for database stuff.

I love this mod however I would like if we had the ability to set the topic to "locked" automatically.
Anyway we can modify this to do that?

vbgamer45

Yes in SMF 2.0 you can search The WelcomeTopic2.php file and add the code to lock topic

For php support/guides. It really is a simple edit to the mod. One line of code.

If it is so simple then why can't you just help me please rather than send me on a wild goose chase?
It doesn't sound like I am asking for much from what you say "It really is a simple edit to the mod. One line of code."

I too would love to learn how to get this mod to work for more than 7 days.  Any help would be much appreciated.

You have to change it to [username] instead the {} do not work with SMF 2.0 as they use that for database stuff.

No this does nothing just leaves a blank in that space when posting the message. I have tried it using [USERNAME] as well but this just places that in the message as well

Yes i have also installed and tried and do not find any username displayed.

So what could be the either option to display it.

See i have a question now.

When i see members on moderation queue and activate them.

I get there username where iam using [username] .

It is not working only if members register and activate themselves.

I am seeing exactly the same behaviour on SMF 2.0 RC1

This does suggest there is a bug in associating [username] with the member's user name - at least two versions of SMF (1.1.8 and 2.0 RC1) are being reported as having this error.

Question - is it possible that the admin permissions of the "announcement posting user" has an effect on this - I am using a non-admin account as the poster for the announcements.

Question - is there a typo in the instructions / help popup surrounding the code [username] - i.e. is the syntax really something like [member_name] instead?

I like this mod however since I installed RC1 2.0 it will show the message like this.

It will not change the username to the name selected by the user. What can I do?
I tried to uninstall but I get an error and I am afraid of messing up my board.

Please help!!!!!

Thought you should know: I am using theme albino from Crip. Do I have to manually install something? Now with that error message I am stuck and don't know what to do.

Thanks
