Is there a way to make this mod work with the Facebook Connect mod?

I have both mods installed...and when people register thru the site...they get a welcome message in the forum. But when they register via Facebook Connect...and log into the forums for the first time....there's no welcome message.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  LOVED this mod since it came out, by the way!  Would love for it to work with Facebook Connect, though...if possible.

Hi had this on my forum for ages brill mod ty

but since i did the upgrade to 2.0.1 it's not working
it says it's all installed ok and i haven't changed any other info on it but it just doesn't do anything when a new member joins?

How did you upgrade? If you did a full upgrade you will need to reinstall if you upgraded though package manager you should be fine.

i used the upgrade package as i had RC4 2.0 running
as i said it was working fine but since the upgrade it's just stopped working
annoying as it's a lovely mod

Upgrade package you will need to reinstall mods in that case since it overwrites files.

ok i've deleted it and re-installed it again from scratch
i'll see if it works when a new member joins

a very good mod, so simple yet effective, saves time for staff and the welcome post makes members feel welcome and recognized..thx 10/10

PROBLEM: Everytime a player joined i either got {username} or [username] but not tthe persons name
and i am using 2.0.2

For 2.0 make sure you use [username] for personalization

Not sure haven't used that modification.

i figured out why it wasn't making welcome posts
it was because i now have the facebook log-in feature on my site
and this doesn't work with that mod
if ppl join normally it works perfectly

That explains yeah only works with the builtin method.

Is it possible to set it so that new members immediately go in to the newly created welcome posting.
For now, the posting is created but the new members first come on the general forum and see the hole forum as new and unread
The chance that these new members than go to the welcome posting is therefore small.
It is this mod for 1.1.16

Is not working so well on my template

Not possible since the user does not enter a display name on registration

They do if the site is using Display Name on Registration Mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1747) like our site.

I'm in the same boat. I'd really love it if it called the Display Name rather than the log in name, since I also use this mod.
