Big probs with artio sef and bridge

Ok I went and read a bunch of old threads about this but I'm not sure what to do!

I installed artio SMF and as others (as i've not found) encountered when I turned artio sef off for the forum all threads linked back to the home page.

I tried to uninstall it but once I did this my forum no longer works at all. When I try to go to any group or topic it says it doesn't exist on the server.

Now if i reinstall artio sef and turn artio sef on for the forum my forum works. what the heck is going on? anyone experienced this? how did you fix it?

Did you install your SMF in a directory named "forum", and then use "forum" as the alias in ArtioSEF?

I think i figured this out. I made a mistake replacing the old .htaccess
