Phpbb2 to SMF

Hello need a bit of help please some friends run a phpbb2 board. we want to move it to another server running smf.

Problem is i only have access to the backup function on phpbb2 board. How do i use the backup and move to new board running SMF? I should add i have full website access on new server.

I read the forums and cant find a good write up on this situation.

Hello.

I would recommend to backup your old forum (from the ACP) and save it on your computer.

Next, on your NEW HOST, create another db and install phpBB again using the database you saved (not required tough), and start from there.

Where you able to convert to SMF? Did you try the latest conversion scripts?
