Modify Banner

I'm new here.

How do I go about modifying the banner. The one that has simple machines forums on the right side of the banner on 1.1.2?

Welcome to SMF.

Go to your Themes/default/index.template.php file and edit it (search for smflogo.gif). If you want to add your logo to replace that, just go to Themes/default/images and replace that smflogo.gif with your own logo.
