Why the new look to the support forum

Been meaning to ask this for some time, why has the support forum changed its look from the standard default forum we get when we first install SMF.

Is this to be this to be the new default look?

There has always been a different site layer here (which is really the only change, the other layers and templates are the same), but they needed to change the site layer, and now they're just experimenting, finding out what works well and what doesn't.
