Converting Tables from SMF 1.08 to 1.1

Hi there,

my situation is as follows:

I run SMF 1.08 with a pretty large database. I plan to move my domain to a new server, where I want to relaunch my forum with SMF 1.1.3 and the "old" content.

My idea is to install SMF 1.1.3 new on the new server. In parallel I want to run the SMF 1.0.8 on the old server for a couple of days. After testing and several modification to the basic SMF 1.1.3 installation I want to drop all the old mysql tables, backup them in the new database on the new server ... and convert them from 1.0.8 to 1.1.3

Stupid or possible  ;D
Any suggestions to proceed ?

The reason for "my complicated way" is that I don't want any downtime on my forum. After transferring all my data, the new provider needs at least 24 hours to start my domain from the new server. I don't want my forum users to wait such a long time.

Thanks a lot in advance for any helpful hint.

Special greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Oliver
