how would i get this to work for rc2

when i try and get it via admin panel package manager it says the following

There are no installation or uninstallation actions defined!
so i started to do it manuly and i came across this

array('text', 'cal_maxspan', &$txt['calendar53']),

in modsettings.php and it didnt exist in it so i loked through there and found this

      array('rule'),
// One day events or multi-day?
         array('check', 'cal_allowspan'),
         array('int', 'cal_maxspan'),

but i dont think the code to add will work in there:S

Owdy

Grudges mods arent RC2 ready yet. You just have to wait.

I've just updated the shoutbox, message icon, jumpbox and visual warning mods so they will try and install with RC2. If you get any "Failure" messages do NOT continue. Instead report the bugs here and I will fix them. I'm just too tired to do them today as I'm off to bed in a few minutes!

There are no installation or uninstallation actions defined!

still says that when i try to download from package manager

Grudge

Ummm... maybe it's downloading a cached version or something?! Can you try downloading the file directly to your PC:

http://www.mymods.co.uk/Packages/shout.tar.gz

and then upload it into your Packages folder, and tell me whether it still says this?

Both for ssi_examples.php and ssi_examples.shtml?

I'll have to do this tomorrow now as I'm literally going into bed!

* umiya wonders when grudge will fix this :(

Grudge

1) You didn't tell me whether it was in ssi_examples.php AND ssi_examples.shtml
2) I tried to fix my mods yesterday, but the internet at home (Not here at work) wasn't working so I couldn't upload any of my changes. I will *try* to do them tonight but it depends on my stupid ISP to get broadband working, as last night it was dropping every other packet and hence not working
I'm only a half geek really...

umiya

there are no examples in either of them

Grudge

Well, I have to say I don't know why it's not working. I did an install today on a clean RC2 install and it worked fine. I checked out your site and to me it doesn't look like it's been installed, as there are NO changes in ssi_examples.*, if SSI wasn't working I'd still expect to see the title of the example. Can you verify that some changes *have* been made by going to "Feature Setting and Options" and checking the settings are listed? If not it's not been installed! Try downloading it again and try again... otherwise it may be that your using safe mode and the package manager is simply refusing to install it, and you will have to do it by hand :(

well for one reason or antoehr it never installed fully i deleted it and downloaded again and uploaded again and instaleld again and worked jsut fine.....thanks for the help :)

DrMcNasty

Well I have tried to install this and it says it worked.... but ...
When I look at installed packages it isn't there.  There is nothing there.
When I look at the edit forum settings I see a new area but I have no text on it?  I would assume that is what this is for.  It also has all the select boxes as blank as well.

Any thoughts on this?  I am running a custom theme and I have removed all the language files I have so that it should just go back and use the default but it isn't.

Thoughts?

Grudge

Are you definetly using English? The language entries are put into Modifications.english.php in the default theme.

Also, ensure you read the instructions, once you have the settings appear you'll need to add the shoutbox to your template using smfshout(), but this was in the instructions ;)

DrMcNasty

Yeah Grudge, I got most of it working.

I would like to be able to have it come up as a pop up or to have it replace the news and the members information on the right when the board was expanded.  Do you know what I mean?

I found the problem to be that I had langauge files in my Theme folder so it wasn't pulling the default ones.  Once I removed those then I was find.
