Multiple Apostrophe's or Quotes

SMF Version: SMF 1.1.3
Alright this is a small nuisance, but it seems recently (I can't track down the exact time it started) that Apostrophe's or Quotes will double or even triple seemingly at random whenever they are used

for instance
don't becomes
don''t
or don''''t
and I have no clue what is causing it, has anybody got a clue?

edit: whenever modified the '' become doubled and cause the '''' , I have attempted to add
php_value magic_quotes_sybase Off
to .htaccess, but this only causes an internal server error. I don't have access to php.ini (I'm on a shared server). I there any way to fix this?

No, everything is as it was, So I can assume it was something by the host in the last couple of days. Having searched it seems to have to do with php_value magic_quotes_sybase seems to bugger it up (I think that is it, as i haven't changed anything on the server recently)

I have seen this question mentioned before but forgot if there was a solution to it.

Contact your webhost and see if it really is something on their end that they changed causing this problem.
