I first asked here: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=7482.0;topicseen

So here is a new topic.
If I try to upload an avatar I get the error message
QuoteThe attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.
.

QuoteCan we have a test account with permissions to post attachments?  A phpinfo?

Testaccount: test password: test
phpinfo: hxxp:dresden.rpgserver.de/definierte_variablen.php [nonactive]

The website is available under hxxp:www.dresden-spielt.de.vu [nonactive]

Oldiesmann

Double-check the permissions. The attachments directory should be chmodded to 777 (you can do that through any FTP client). When I tried to post an attachment, I got this message:

QuoteCannot access attachments upload path!
Michael Eshom
Christian Metal Fans

[Unknown]

That message means the path is probably either actually wrong, or not writable.

Thx, it was the path of the atachments.

Hm... Where do you set the correct path? I'm getting the same error message after setting both my avatars and attachments directory to 777.

torkil

Well ooops. It was set to the old YaBB-folder... there's the problem... The setting is found in the forum settings (of course)  :-X
