Backup won't work

SMF Version: SMF 1.1.3
Sorry for boaring you with this question, but i could't find a solution with fits for my problem.

I need to move my smf which is build in a Joomla to a new server.

I tryed the backup whitch is postet under downloads. There I receved the message, that the file is brocken ore not fitting.

The I took the backuptool for windows and suckseed, but broke my joomla db with it.

Now I'm looking for a simple solution to keep the content of the forum and move it to an new database.

Oh i forgot to say that i,ve to move it from MySQL 4 to an MySQL5 version....

I'm yust out of Ideas and hope to find someone to help
