Error 406

Hi guys
I have just moved server and need a problem fixed ASAP.
It links to my news problem as I have just discovered it is a universal problem.
Whenever I post a letter with a colon, eg http:// I get Error 406.
I need this solved asap, and I assume it is a server issue, but one I need to know the problem of so I can get them to fix it.
