Hi,
Is there a way to have signatures be collapseable, with an option in the user's profile specifying whether they are collapsed or expanded by default?

I posted about this earlier:

I think this is a bit of a bloat and a waste of db space.  Let's say you have a forum with 100,000 members.  Now 95,000 of those members have collapsed the sig of 50,000 members.  That would mean that 4,750,000,000 new rows are added to the db.

Hopefully I got the math and logic right.  Too late to be thinkin :P.

Isn't this the same as you would display the signatures as whole?

No because you have the members table and there it stores if you want to see sigs or not.  What you want to do is select which ones to show or not show.

Hmm... where is the setting for "display signature on/off"?  Just make it on/off/collapseable.  Actually, I was going to request this myself... I'd like to be able to view the signatures on the forums without having to open another page.  Basically, make it so that they are loaded, but collapsed - or if they load quickly enough, then I suppose they could dynamically load.  Who do I bug about this?

Oh, sounds great. Hasn't there been talk about a "block user X's signature" as well? Maybe even as a default feature? Anywas, these two would work great together, because for every single member you could choose either to just simply collapse or ban their signature, hopefully directly from the postview, and also via user-panel if you want.
