Signature character count not including tags?

I would like it if someone made a mod where the signature character count is counted after the tags are worked out. Say you have a few links in your Sig but you can't use it because it goes over the character count but the final count is less than the limit. Is this possible?

Eg

Koodi [Valitse] Laajenna

[color=green][size=3][url=linlithgow-forums.org.uk]Linlithgow Forums is my website[/url][/size][/color]
Linlithgow Forums is my website
Would count as only 27 charachters instead of 99 charachters.

Oh, that's a brilliant idea. I would like this to be a default feature, because I think the way it currently is is completely illogical. I like using tables to make small amounts of text appear nice and neat, but I usually get enough characters to do that... To avoid some kind of abuse with people stuffing it with tags thus making... something... go wrong, it could cound one letter per 10 words inside a tag or something maybe?

I'm not very good at javascript. But I'm guessing this would be extremely complex if not impossible clientside. (javascript)
But on submitting (server-side) in php, it would be alot easier to check.
