Here are my forums:

http://www.thebandalliance.org/smf

What is odd was cookies were working fine when I first installed it..but then decided to start over once I could not get the bridge working with mambo.  So i deleted all the tables and directory, and restarted from scratch.

Now I have to login every single time I start IE or Mozilla after closing it, even if I check login forever.  If I just go to another site and dont close the browser and go back to my forums it works fine.

I have tried it on 2 machines here at work both on XP SP 2, I dont have any other OS to try it out on.  The odd thing is it works fine for my other forum here

http://www.nnjpr.org/smf

and they are both on the same host (powweb.com) and both same version of the forums, with same settings in admin for cookies.

Anyone ever see this?

ok something I have discovered that is really wierd.

When I first go my forums it says I am not logged in and asks me to logon, but I can still see the public area.  That is normal.  But when I clcik on the public forum it logs me in, and if I click on Home I am now logged in and can see the rest of the forums.

Anyone ever see that?

You've got the forum URL set to "http://thebadalliance.org/smf" (without the "www" at the beginning). Change that and it should work just fine.

Actually, what's happening is the "www" is missing because Apache has the domain set up as thebadalliance.org.  All you have to do is make sure to put a / on the end:

http://www.thebandalliance.org/smf/

The other domain has the same problem, but it's URL is set without the www.

You may also want to try turning on "subdomain independent" cookies.

Thanks for taking the time to help =)

I know this going to sound like a noob quesiton and I apologize, where exactly do I set this?

Thanks

Heh, sorry.  You set it under:

Admin -> Edit Features and Options.

Click "expand all" and search for "independent".
