Visitors unable to write messages w/o email address

Until I converted my forum from YaBB SE to SMF, visitors were able to write messages without providing the e-mail address. After the upgrade, they no longer are. I'm unable to find any setting that would change this.

Also, now I have one moderator group in which no-one seems to belongs to, but it can't be deleted and still admin and moderators are listed in it if they write a message. Is this considered as The Moderator Group?

YaBB SE behaved the same way, not allowing guests to post without providing email addresses.  You probably had the code modified, and this is something that's possible with SMF too - if you search, there are instructions out there...

The Moderator group is there so you can change how moderators are displayed - group name, stars, etc.  If you add administrators as moderators to a board, they will be shown as moderators instead of administrators inside that board.
