How Can I install an automated reply

I need an autoresponder to new members signing up on my forum.

I have also noticed that anyone can sign up using an inaccurate email address and they can post. Is there any verification methods or programs I can use to make sure who posts is the person they claim to be?

2) Yes you can make it so they have to confirm there account with there email
Admin > Registration > Method of registration employed for new members: Member approval
