Gary

It makes your text blink.

It was requested a few weeks ago, which was the only reason why I made it. :P

Did you get any failures when installing or are you using a custom theme that has it's own Post.template.php?

Well, I just notice that now there is this text line
"$txt['blink'] = 'Blink';"
at the very top of my home page!

Gary

Open up Modifications.english.php and then move that code to be before the closing ?>

Works fine on Firefox, but doesn't seem to work on IE7. Strange.

karlbenson

@ALM - I've had a similar issue with my mods not adding before the ?> using position="end"

I've tried with various varieties and had to change them all to position="after" using the ?> for the search

Thank you.

I tested it on you forum, and then checked in google to be sure, but IE6 or IE7 don't support text-decoration:blink
(and thats css1)

I love IE7 despites its memory leaks.  And despite it being one of the least used bits of css, I can't believe MS didn't include support for it.

Well thats not correct actually.  IE recognises the value, it just doesnt do any blinking.

Gary

In otherwords, blame Microsoft for it not working. :P

exactly.

You can either not use it, or use <blink></blink> instead, but that is not recommended for accessibility purposes.

I hope your not too disappointed, but its not a big deal. Especially when blink was voted in the top 10 most annoying html bits (after Marquee) (loved by the kiddies and spammers/advertisers)
