Comments on board news???

How can i let members comment on news? and also show number of views?

Board news, as in the news shown in the forum header?

Or perhaps you are talking about ssi_boardNews() when using SSI?

Yes i'm sorry, let me explain myself!!

I meant board news, as in the news shown in the forum header, how can i have comments on there, and also if the news is too long how can i show *read more* button and the number of views of the news??

Going to move this to Mod Requests. This board is more for those working on the code by themselves and have run into a little problem or have a question about exactly how to do something. Also this would require quite a bit of modification so a quick "Find this" "Add this" type post may not be very feasible.

Perhaps a slightly easier route could be to have the news grab specified topics. That would take care of both the views and comment part of your request. Maybe you can even just link to a corresponding topic to each news item, and just use that?

i think that would be awesome
but id prefer the comments hidden unless the user clicks some sort of "show comments" button...
