Notification of New Users Awaiting Approval

I would like it if the system would send an email message to one or more particular addresses when a new user has registered and is awaiting approval.
It would be desirable to have more than one option for how this message would be delivered.  I would like to see some check boxes somewhere in the admin preferences that would allow you to choose which way the admin or moderators are notified when a member is waiting for approval.  Email would be one, with an address field that would allow for more than one email address to be entered.  Perhaps personal forum message would be another option with more than one admin/mod address there also.
