ssi help, user cannot login

ok, my forum is located as coninical (forum.domain.com)
i am attempting to use SSI to allow the user to login from main page (domain.com)

every time, it shows the user not logged in, i am assuming it is a cookie thing.. but not sure what to do

Make sure subdomain independent cookies are enabled, and make sure to log out and back in.
