It means it runs a hard refresh on your browser (sometimes helps with resolving issues).

When you hover over the logout URL, do you see ;sesc= at the end of it? That is needed.

What version of SMF are you using? If you are not using the default theme, try switching to it and seeing if it works there. It could be an issue with your theme not adding ;sesc=<session_id> to the end of the logout URL.

I am using 1.1.3 with default theme
index.php?action=logout;sesc=6c92550e7e938ee07ee5bed523f9d1c9

There only seem to be a few ways to generate such an error.

1) ;sesc isn't in the URL (You have verified that it is however)
2) You have not reloaded the page in awhile, the session has changed and you click on the logout button (Probably doesn't apply to you)
3) You change user agents between sessions (Again, rather unlikely!)
4) Something wrong with your PHP or maybe browser

Can you try doing it on another browser? Do other areas that have ;sesc in the URL such as editing a post also cause this error?

Is this issue solved or do you still require assistance?

an outdated theme can also do this -- as can loading the forum within an iframe
