SMF Board of the Month?

I know this thread is to showcase your sites that use the SMF forum software and there are many great looking lay outs within here. I was wondering if the staff has ever pitched the idea of a Staff member each month honoring the great work of the forums out there by polling the members for 5 top SMF sites a month and the winner gets the coveted SMF board of the month banner to proudly display on their page and/or signature.
SMF forums could have a separate area devoted to all BOTM winners as well.
Things to be judged on are layout, look and feel, best display of an SMF forum, etc. Each first 10 days or whatever of the month a SMF staff member opens a new thread asking who would like to be considered, at end of first week, the top five nominations are placed in a poll for judging. With the SMF members choosing this could be a somewhat fair competition. At the last day of the month, poll is tallied and member announced.

I beive this is something TP does on there site.

I think its a pretty good idea.  The board for "Showcase" is really big goes back many many pages. Not sure if a staff member would have time to go back and look at all there sites.

Maybe having a board were people can post there suggestions for site of the month might work. Then having a winner choosen out of that months specific thread.
