Saving login details between website and forum

How can i keep users logged in when they go from my website (built in joomla) to my simply machines forum?

I have a link on my joomla website that takes me to the forum. when i go to this link i always asks to log in again. Can i make it so it doesnt ask them to log in again?

Any Ideas?

that is what the bridge did.
Since the bridge has been discontinued, the answer is... not easily.
