You need to remove ALL install entries, not just the ones that cause errors... Otherwise it means your SMF is very, very unclean!
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

My best bet would be to completely delete all aeva tables and reinstall AM.

Ok. Will do. I'll let you know how it went.

Soms

Ok. The installation process went fine. I will start the process of checking AM out in due course.  :D

@clothahump> I try never to joke when dealing with bugs. This wasn't a joke. What's the problem with SQL dumps?

@phizinza> "Moderate Gallery" means "Moderate any albums". Gallery = all albums.
Users are allowed to upload to/modify their albums without any permissions, obviously. As long as you allow them to open albums...

Upgraded to current version and now have a couple of anomalies.

There are now two Defaults in Permissions.
Member Groups has lost Regular members.
It states that "A new version (7.0.705) is available!"

I have 3  ;D

Happy New Year

Not you Nao, the comment from Petesky.

This is what my permissions are set like and this is what a standard user in that permission group sees. No link to add more items to the album. Could you please tell me what permissions I can set to allow users to only add and edit their own albums?
Thanks

Nao 尚

No, no, he definitely has at least 2...
I have his perms and variables dumps, still waiting for his albums dump.
BTW I don't need "just" the albums dump, it's useless to me. I need all 3 or nothing.
And zipped, please, not posted raw in a PM... I just deleted yours.

Edited my previous post because us the mod approval need for the screenshot. Picture of how my permissions are should be in the post now. Thanks.

(You could have waited just a little longer and it would have been approved ;))

Will be busy IRL for the rest of the day. (Sorry.)

Hello guys

Im having a problem with the mod, since about a week all the embeded videos show a blank space instead the embeded video itself. Example

http://curefans.com/index.php/topic,6530.msg67525/topicseen.html#new

What can be wrong?

Nao 尚

Your page doesn't validate. It has plenty of errors, including a <script> tag that closes when nothing's open, and later, a script tag that opens up but doesn't do anything and isn't even complete, which disables everything that comes after it--guess what? Aeva initialization.

Anyway--- means you have a conflict between Aeva and a badly programmed mod. What are your other installed mods?

How do I embed this?

Okay guys, about the permission profiles... I'd be tempted to scold Dragooon on this but (1) I've always found permissions to complicate to handle by myself so I can't really throw the stone, (2) he's on vacation so I can't even get advice from him.

Basically, I just found out about another bug.
If the 'automatically created' permission profile has an ID of 1, the installer changes it to 2... But doesn't update the local variable with the ID. So it attempts to insert all permissions into the aeva_perms table with an ID of 1 regardless. Since the inserts are in 'ignore' mode (i.e. it the data already exists, don't insert it), nothing will happen, but still, a permission with ID 2 will be created an unused. Totally worthless if you ask me... And since the table is supposed to be empty in the first place (otherwise it wouldn't be executing that piece of code), the data will be inserted -- with the wrong permission ID.
That's for one thing.

Now, the second thing is that the installer will basically create that automatic profile, and set all user albums (now any album) to it. Then it will set all general albums (now 'featured albums' only) to ID 1. Problem is -- at this point, there should be no such permission profile in the perms table... What about that?! It makes no sense to me.
I've never really delved much into permission profiles. It seems that the more I want to look into them, the more it scares me into running away.

I'm ashamed to say, but although I did my best to have a 'smart' installer when it comes to upgrade SMG to Aeva, unfortunately I couldn't (for now) fix any of the issues the installer had from the SMG era.

@clothahump & petesky, could you PM me an admin account to your site? (As well as the URL to your sites.) I'm not sure it'll be 100% helpful, but I'd like to see the problematic sites in situation. It would be even better with phpMyAdmin access, too, so that I can attempt to fix the profiles manually. Nothing mandatory though. The admin account should be enough for now. (And petesky, I'm still waiting for your albums table dump ;))

@Dismal Shadow> Brightcove? I should think this embeds automatically...?

@Phizinza> I don't see any problems... Are you positive your users can't edit their albums?! (And.. Can you?)

Nope, It shows like this:

Did you put
before it and
after it?

Failing that you only need to put the actual brightcove.com URL in.

Cheewy

I can't see add album button... what is happening? :-\

Phizinza

I figured out the problem. Editing the album was the problem. Adding items to it was. But what I hadn't done was set the permissions in the Aeva settings as WELL as the permissions for the groups in the normal permission settings on the SMF. Basically I just had to go to Aeva Media > Permissions > click Default > click Edit and set all the user permissions in there for the users.

Works now.. Still have a crudy looking Media menu button that needs fixing though..

Thanks for the help. Your explination of the permissions is what put me on to thinking that. I'm not much of a php 'er so I find working this stuff pretty complex still.

Phizinza

I had similar problems with a different button.
I don't know a whole lot about it all but try setting the Aeva Media > Permissions. And the SMF Member > Permissions.

Hope that is all it is.
