Mambo->SMF: Mambo User menu doesn't always appear. Cookie issue?

Sorry for yet another thread on the Mambo/SMF stuff.

My login and logout is working great. When I login it displays the Mambo "User Menu" properly. The problem is if I close the browser and come back to the site later. It still shows me as logged in, but the User Menu is nowhere to be found. I assume it's some kind of cookie issue with Mambo, but I'm too much of a newbie to know where to look. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

edit: I just noticed that this only seems to happen in Mozilla. In IE the whole thing works fine. Is this just a Mozilla specific problem?

i'm a bit lost also but i did notice this in the readme.txt which might be a solution

Some related things you might need to do:

If you are using a Mozilla browser, and you get a blank page when you go to your forum, you need to go into your Mambo control panel,

and turn off GZip compression.  This will fix your forum.

If you have login/logout issues, go to your SMF admin area, "Edit Features and Options", and make sure of the following:

Enable local storage of cookies - unchecked

Use subdomain independent cookies - checked

Save these settings.  You should have no more problems logging in or out.  If you do, you may have to shut both off.

please note that i'm a total newbie to smf and mambo however but maybe this helps

I was also having the same problems.  Issue was fixed when I made sure that my new redirect (to the new /mambo/index.php)  was to http://www.yoursite/mambo/index.php , rather then just to http://yoursite/mambo/index.php. That change solved my problem and enabled my cookies again. Hope this helps.
