Alternate child board view.

Just popping in my second idea, an alternate view for child boards.

The Dilbert theme is where I took the screenshot from and this single feature is why I use the Dilbert theme over the Default. (I love the default look over all.)

The top is the Dilbert Child Board view, the bottom is the normal SMF default view.

I think it would be great to have an option to select what view you would like.

Once again, I love SMF and just chartered a membership. Not wanting to be a pain just great things I would love to see in the default install.

I also agree :) Would be nice to see such clear child boards at default...

This is just a simple theme change. Some people prefer the view as a line, some as columns. This is why you can install your own themes.

If we added an option for that view, every theme author would then need to support both views instead of the way it works best for the theme, which might be entirely different from either of those two.

yes it would be great... and some option like organize from A-R and with a little icon of new message like this(see picture).. (orange=new message, blue=no new message) and option in the user profile to see it in default or in the new way..

Adding an option to switch between modes would restrict the ability of the theme authors to create new themes. If they way they wanted something to work was different, they couldn't do it because it would suddenly break a feature (and SMF would be blamed, of course).

You can organize your boards however you want, that is already in the software. Not really anything as easy as "sort alphabetically", but you can already determine what boards go where.
