Personalization Tags/Tokens

Hello,

I am hoping someone could direct me to the proper file(s) that would need to be modified so that when a tag like these are used within any posts the viewing members info is displayed.

{username} and {firstname}

If its a visitor then the name Guest would be displayed.

Im sure its a simple mod but not sure where to direct a programmer to make it if I can't find the assistance here.
