I have read throughout this forum that people have this quick reply option, however I can find nowhere int he admin options to turn it on, I use the theme: BlackRain v2. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

viper58

Nvm I found it after a lot of searching. Its not in a very accessible place

karlbenson

Quick reply is a per user setting via users profile settings.

But you turn it on for everyone via Admin > Current Theme > Reset Options > Reset Options for members using default theme.

Change the quick reply settings

ALEJO

it would be nice if u can make it to all users have the quickreply by default... because not all users r brillant to activate it :P

With two of the links on the Reset Options page you can use to reset the settings for all members and also change the settings for future members and guests.

You can not install the quick reply. It is already a built in feature in smf, if you activate it, it will show with all themes

Jade Elizabeth

Core definitely has quick reply. It always has, even since the 1.0 betas.
"Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise."

Jade Elizabeth

:S well why couldnt i find it?

I don't know. It's always been there, you just had to enable it in your profile.

A simple quick reply has been in SMF for at 18 months whilst I've been using SMF.
Although it has always needed activating on per-user basis or by admin for all users.

All the enhanced quick reply/post template does is add bbcode & smilies to the quickreply box.

Jade Elizabeth

well how do i set it in the core theme to show on default?

admin > current theme > reset options >

for default theme
reset all settings for members using this theme

check the quick reply enabled by default.

@Alundra, this thing has been explained to you at least half a dozen time only at this topic. If it  still isn''t clear, then please stop asking the same question over and over again and do a search as this thing has been asked and answered 1000 times

ALEJO

admin>current theme>reset options>reset options at all users for this theme(or something like that, i have it in spanish)>use quick reply>change>show activated

is one of the last options...

Alundra, you're looking in the wrong place.

If you want to turn it on for yourself only, then go:

Profile > Look and Layout Preferences > Use quick reply on topic display > show, on by default

if you want to turn it on for everybody:

Admin > Themes and Layout > Reset Options > [THEME] > Reset default (guest) options for this theme > Use quick reply on topic display > show, on by default
