Hello i'm trying to run localy my  joomla 1.0.12, com_smf 1.7 and SMF 1.1.4 bridged and wraped. .
I;m using Xammp  version 1.6.4 . The website would not run localy unless I unpublish the bridge;s mambot and module .
The same portal is running on a hosted server online without enccoutering the same problem.
Does it have to do with the xammp that I,m using?
I did this because I would like to upgrate joomla to the latest version 1.0.13 and I would like to see how (and if) it would work with com_smf 1.7 and smf 1.1.4.

Best regards,

Dimitris

It is probably either a path issue, or a database issue.

On your local machine, you must install SMF and Joomla in the same database.

If you upgrade Joomla to 1.0.13, the bridge will not work.  The salted passwords in 1.0.13 break the bridge.

Thank you Ostrio!
I have installed smf and joomla on the same database localy! exept if you mean to add all tables in one unique database and run them from there.!
I'l give ti a try and let you know.
However, there is no reason to do it if it will not work with the latest version of joomla. does that mean that we will have an update for the bridge in the future? or do I have to find an other solution for my bridge?
at the moment I'm not changing anything online as the site works oK (with joomla 1.0.12) . I'm only worried about security isues!

You've missed a lot, haven't you?

Due to Joomla's interpretation of the GPL, we are unable to distribute the bridge.

If you are concerned about security, you would be better off switching to Mambo before attempting an upgrade to Joomla 1.0.13.

is there a converter from joomla to mambo?
i have been searchin but with no success,
