need help, not sure if right place, not sure even if i am???

im really confused..

ive really been trying to figure out how i can load my own smilies to my forum.. i so bad want to have my own little smilies on there.. just odds and ends of ones of my own choice.. and im sooo lost on how to do it.. totally confused.. i dont want the standard smilies.. i want fun ones.. creative one.. and different ones.. even character ones.. just some of my own picks.. but im so lost.. everything ive tried its not worked.. and ive tried over and over.. please.. and if you try to tell me how its going to have to be very basic english because im so very lost in this place and type of forum.. my other forum was different.. i thought i saw an example board before i decided to make a forum here.. and it had all kinds of neat smilies on the left side of the reply box to choose from.. thats what i want.. oh dear.. can someone help me with this.. slowly.. step by step.. real slow.. or just poof them in my forum for me?
