moderator preview for new members

Hi,

can smf be configured so that when a new member joins, his/her first few posts don't go straight to the board but through moderator approval? We are considering to move from ipb to smf, but this is a key issue since we get lots of trolls and want to prevent them from ever getting to the board.

You can set the new registrations to be by admin approval only.  In your admin control panel/Edit Features and Options/Method of registration employed for new members  Set this to Member Approval

i want people to be able to register, but want to monitor their first posts before they get on board.

looks like moderator approval for posts is not at all implemented? i can't see any faqs or guides on this site so it's difficult to know.

Check out Grudge's post moderation mod. Then, create a custom post group, set it so that they only need a few posts to reach that group and then set it so everyone in the Newbie group automatically gets their posts moderated.
