I checked the source code and see that SMF uses full urls as YaBB SE does... why is this prefered?

I'd prefer absolute urls, but that's me... relative urls are ok too, but harder to keep working when directories are moved and stuff, so absolute is nicer

I'm not criticizing, just curious about this :)

Because it makes things easier... you can change your image url to /community/Themes/default or something if you really prefer, but it might cause problems.

even if all the urls involved are under the same domain? I can see how it'd cause a problem if under a different domain, of course

maybe it could work in a way that if the domain is the same as the index's, it's absolute and if it's different, it's full

I wonder if there's something more to absolute and relative urls other than just a shorter string... hmm...
