Need help with Joomla & SMF Bridge

Gentleman,

I am running Joomla 1.0.12 stable and a bridge by joomlahacks.

It seems that the bridge is causing mucho issues with our site, as we get around 1000 people on the site and it starts to hang like a mofo.

We need to have a good bridge that links our joomla and SMF.  Any suggestions?

The integration from joomlahacks is the only one currently in circulation for Joomla.

Yuck, the site doesn't load for me, and it really seems to be a piece of poop.

This may force us to move away from Joomla, simply because we love the features SMF provides.
