Additional Information for User List?

Hello,

don't know if this is the right place to ask - but maybe someone can answer it ...

I' d like to have some additional information in the users profile and have those information displayed in the user list.

In detail:
- The users in my forum asked to have the possibility to enter additional information in their profile.
They want to enter their CITY & ZIP-code. This additional information should be displayed in the "user list"
and should be sorted by ZIP-Code or by city-name.

Is this possible? How can I do this modification?
Or ... maybe even someone has already developed something similar?

Additional Profile fields are possible, all you have to do is search for them ..

I typed in additional profile fields and found:

Yes, you are right - adding additional profile fields isn't a great problem.

My problem is:

- I'd like to display this additional Profile information (City / ZIP-code) in my "UserList",
and add the option to sort users by "ZIP" or "City"

Any idea how to do this?

You would have to edit Memberlist.template.php. I have not messed around with Extra profile fields at all, but I am sure some one could help you if you post the settings that you store your extra profile fields with. . . If not I can try my own profile fields

Yes sir - That's the list I mean   

The reason why I want to add additional fields (City/ZIP) is:
- I have an oldtimer-forum (motorbikes); 80% of all users come from inside the country
- my members want to meet each other and go out for a ride with their motorbikes;
so they want to know who's in their "neighbourhood" and meet each other

A great help was a mod called "Member Map", but I'd prefer some additions to the user list ...

Memberlist.template.php:
- additional settings should be "Stadt" (means "City")  and  "PLZ" (means "Postal / ZIP-code")

Any idea?

I will see what I can pull up, so far I got the member list thing to show 2 more colunmns and titles correctly for them. I am trying to make it get data.

Currently, in 1.0, the member list doesn't work well with theme options.  This has already been changed for the next major release (unstable, 1.1.)

1 is still to come out of preview isnt it, god dev goes fast, cool more updates i love the update scripts. lol

I saw that SMF 1.1 BETA has just been released to Charter Members and I had a look at the improvemets-list (very impressive).
But there's no word about the "member list"-improvements ... 

I still hope you will implement this feature 'till SMF 1.1 final
